Breaking News: Hon.Aminu Tambuwal's Security Aids Withdrawn

(UPDATED 12:36 pm): The Acting Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba, has redeployed the Police personnel attached to the Speaker, House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, for defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu, in a statement on Thursday in Abuja, hinged the withdrawal of Tambuwal’s security aides on Section 68(1)(g) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.
Statement reads, “In view of the recent defection by the Right Hon.  Aminu Waziri Tanbuwal, CFR, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, from the People Democratic Party to the All Progressive Congress and having regard to the clear provision of section 68(1)(g) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, the Nigeria Police Force, has redeployed its personnel attached to his office.”
Ojukwu could not be reached to comment on why the same treatment was not applied to Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State, who defected from the Labour Party to the Peoples Democratic Party a few weeks ago.
The FPRO did not respond to calls to his phone and he has yet  to respond to a text message sent to him as of the time of filing this report.
10.17am: Security details attached to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Aminu Tambuwal, have been withdrawn.
It is not clear who ordered the withdrawal, but The PUNCH learnt that policemen assigned for his personal security and other operatives reportedly did not report for work this morning.
“We came to work this morning and what we found was that all the security men did not report for duty. We are puzzled but that is the situation,” a National Assembly aide informed Punch News

BREAKING News: Speaker Aminu Tambuwal Finally Defects To APC

The Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal has defected to Nigeria’s Opposition, All Progressives Congress, APC dumping the ruling People’s Democratic Party, PDP a platform through which he emerged speaker of the green chamber.

Tambuwal defected Monday in Sokoto when he attended the APC Stakeholders meeting , the speaker is expected to announce his defection officially during Tuesday’s plenary session in the House of the Whole…

Some members of the House of Assembly are also expected to defect with him during tomorrows plenary from the People’s Democratic Party. Tambuwal in the last one year has been a strong opposition to the ruling PDP, ignoring NEC meetings of the party and attending events organized by Chieftains of the APC.

His defection comes as no surprise especially for political analysts who have before now, predicted his eventual defection ahead of the 2015 general elections.. Tambuwal is known from moving from one political party to another since he began his career in active politics.

At the stakeholders meeting reports gather were Aliyu Wamako, the executive governor of Sokoto State, and Inuwa Abdulkadir, the former Minister of Youth Development who served under the President Goodluck Jonathan’s cabinet before he was sacked. @AbangMecy

University of Ibadan Holds Her 7th Inaugural Lecture

University of Ibadan hold her 2013/2014 inaugural lecture which also marks the university 7th inaugural lecture which took place at the Trenchard Hall on 16th of October, 2014. The inaugural lecture was delivered by Prof.Olabisi Ugbebor  from faculty of science,in department of mathematics which she titled: THE ROLE AND INTERPLAY OF MEASURE THEORY, MENTORING AND MULTIDIMENSIONAL RESEARCH IN THE MAKING OF MATHEMATICIAN.The lecture started exactly 5pm by possession of the school principal officers led by the Vice Chancellor of the University accompanying by the DVC Admin,DVC Academic, Bursar and all the faculties Deans in the university. Prof.Olabisi Ugbebor auto biography was read in which her academic excellent was mention.  Prof.Olabisi Ugbebor properly went into the inaugural lecture where she analysed the mathematical tools,theories and formula. During the cause of the lecture, Prof.Ugbebor told the whole congregation that one oh her time-paper done in conjunction with one of her M.Sc student has been submitted to the floor of the Nigeria Senate in which the same paper finally moved to the official table of Independence National Electoral Commission chairman,Prof.Jega in which it will help in future election analysis in the country. After Prof.Olabisi Ugbebor finished her presentation, she thanks so many people that have contributed for her success for the past so many years in which she mentioned the General Overseer of the RCCG Pastor E.A Adeboye, her husband,family, parent, church members, colleagues ,students both past and present and finally to all her listeners during the cause of the inaugural lecture. The lecture came to an end at exactly 6:05pm by national anthem and followed by the university anthem.
